Best DALnet Moments I

We had some great entries for the Christmas Competition. Below we've picked out a small selection of the best for your enjoyment. Well done to all who entered, it's so great to know that DALnet has been the catalyst for so many special moments.

DALNet was my first server ever. I have so many souvenirs here that i can even manage to forget some of them ! There's only one moment that I really care about in all the years i've been on this server and that was meeting my ex girl friend. I was completely in love and I would never have experienced anything close to this feeling if it wasn't for her. So to clearly point out what I am trying to say, I had my first love thanks to DAL.... I know it sounds a bit corny but if it wasn't for this server I never would of met her and a lot of events in my life wouldn't have even come close to being as magical as they were !

Anyways, The real purpose of this message is to say thanks ! so once again Thank you DALNet !

P.S.: Moonshadoe, if u still come on this server or ever fall across this server.. call me......
Luv Always

Several months ago, I was just idling as an op of one of the channels I frequent on Dalnet and a user signed on that I did not recognize the but nick caught my attention. I am from Wisconsin and the user’s nickname was “wiboi.” So, being the wonderful op that I am (*cough cough*), I messaged the user to greet him into the channel. We chatted, found we had many of the same interests, and continued to chat for a period of several weeks. Originally he claimed to be 19… which was very close to my age (18). Sparks started to fly. I live approximately an hour or so from his location. After a few weeks of chatting, I discovered that he was not really 19, but was in fact 26. A bit of a shock, sure, but I knew him.. and it was just a silly number. So we met and went on a date. It was great. He even paid (wow!). A few dates later and I asked him out… it seemed like the perfect thing. It was! Now we are planning on getting an apartment together in downtown Milwaukee where I attend school and are already making our plans to move out to the warm west coast when I am done with my schooling. Without Dalnet, I might still have been looking for my one… no longer! I <3 Dalnet
