Best DALnet Moments

We had some great entries for the Christmas Competition. Below we've picked out a small selection of the best for your enjoyment. Well done to all who entered, it's so great to know that DALnet has been the catalyst for so many special moments.

I proposed to my fiancé, Laurie (SOP in #Help) I have the logs of the event. This indeed to me, was the best moment on DALNet. It was in #Beginner, I was able to have the channel moderated, and I was voiced, so was Laurie. I asked her to marry me then and there! It was the best moment of our lives to date, and a moment I will always cherish.
Chris

I have been on dalnet since 1996. I have met hundreds of great people and met many of them in person. Soon after being a regular on dalnet, I became an active member in an inter racial channel. I have chatted in there for years and had a ton of fun, not to mention, made a lot of friends. One night this year, I had the opportunity to really take the time to talk to another regular from that channel that had been there as long as me, but I had never really talked much to. Since then, things have grown between us more than I ever dreamed they could ever possibly have become. We have kept our relationship low-key on irc because, as all of us know, drama lives there too! But, I can't wait for the day to go to channel and let them know that we got married! I met my true soul mate on dalnet. A simple conversation has turned into in-person meetings and THOUSANDS of minutes racked up on our cellphones to planning our future together. I am so grateful that I stumbled across dalnet. It has truly changed my outlook on life!
