It wasn’t love but it was lovely
by Apol0o
It wasn’t love but it was lovely,
It had all in it that it takes-
To string the moments, make a garland.
Of shared happiness for a lifetime,
Yet, it had nothingness, a nada that stopped,
Pushed back and made it die.
We had a wonderful time, chatting,
Sharing those moments of happiness:
A bit of love a bit of life a bit of living-
In borrowed times and distant rhymes,
But we did not have a choice either.
It wasn’t love but it was lovely,
The day when we met in real life,
Cramped was love and jet-lagged too.
Brown was the mood and blues the sky,
Though I thought things would get better.
It did! But then again, momentary was the stay.
Time plays the trick - parting and meeting,
Waxes and wanes for an extension which it hardly gets.
It wasn’t love but it was lovely,
That it all happened and it all was real.
So close and yet so far, the rightness and all the wrongs,
Got mixed up one day and made it the way it is.
It saw the ups it saw the downs and it saw no future
But the present we lived, which now is the past,
Was all that really mattered?
It wasn’t love but it was lovely.
